Since the March 2017 release of their debut track “Best Part of Us feat. Michael Kaneko”, Japan’s masked production team AmPm have enraptured fans around the world. Today (June 18), AmPm release their latest single “New York City”, across all digital music streaming platforms along with a music video filmed on the iconic streets of NYC.

The new single is the second dance track in a row from AmPm, following the March 2021 release of

“Tokyo”. In homage to the house music that influenced AmPm’s sound, ‘New York City’ is a danceable, melodic track with elements of tech house and soulful house, reminiscent of the New York scene.

New York is the city where the members of AmPm were first inspired to perform in masks, so you could say the city forms part of their roots. The members are going to write a blog post about their unforgettable experiences in New York, which you can read on Medium. Don’t forget to follow and get ready! :https://medium.com/@ampm.tokyo

Up until now, AmPm have focused on global activity, and their releases have featured a variety of guest vocalists over dance-influenced tracks. Going forward, they plan to continue traveling the world beyond Tokyo and New York City with a series of singles titled for and inspired by cities around the globe. Join this duo on their exciting journey, and don't forget your passport!

Message from AmPm

“New York City was an important influence on the formation of AmPm, which is why we chose it as the second part of our series of dance tracks named after cities around the world. It’s a city we’ve visited many times, and our past experiences there continue to give us unending stimulation to this day. The track was intended to reflect our image of the city, which is diverse, powerful, and always looking to the future. It has been difficult to travel overseas for a while due to the pandemic, but I hope this track will transport you to New York City, if only in your mind.”
