Hikaru Utada Reaches New Record With “Hatsu Koi”!

World-renowned singer Hikaru Utada released her latest single "初恋" ("Hatsu Koi") on May 30th. It instantly became a hit, reaching the number one spot for top selling digital song on Oricon Charts. It is now being reported that “Hatsu Koi” once again took number one on the digital charts. With this achievement, Utada became the fourth person in 2018 to have a song become number one consecutively and the first woman to do so for the year.

Utada Drops Music Video For “Hatsu Koi”!

Artist Hikaru Utada dropped a preview for the music video for her song "初恋" ("Hatsu Koi"), which will be released today on the iTunes Store. For those who want the song physically, it will be on her new album--also titled Hatsu Koi--set for release on June 27th. The music video incorporates many filming techniques involving shadows as seen below!

Utada Hikaru Celebrates 20th Anniversary With New Album and Tour!

Artist Hikaru Utada has announced the title of her new album: Hatsukoi. Releasing on June 27th Hatsukoi is Utada's 7th studio album and will feature songs that focus on telling the story of feelings. The album is currently planned to having twelve tracks and include her songs "Ohzora de Dakishimete", "Forevermore", "Anata", "Chikai", "Hatsukoi", and "Play a Love Song". The first shipment of physical copies will include lottery tickets to pre-order tickets for her tour that runs from November 6th through December 9th; this marks 20 years--to the day--since she released her "Automatic/Time Will Tell" single.

Hikaru Utada’s Latest Single Chosen For Suntory CM!

Hikaru Utada’s first new song of 2018, “Play A Love Song”, is set to release on April 25th. It has been chosen to advertise for Suntory’s new Southern Alps sparkling water drink.
