Indie Corner Week 27: CRCK/LCKS
/CRCK/LCKS is a five-member jazz pop band formed in 2015 who does a fresh take on various genres such as jazz, math, and progressive rock. They mix their own special compositions with electronica to create their own identity within the genres they tackle. While being a very technically sound band they also have a sense of artistry and emotion that similarly mathy bands lose sense of. They also have a very high sense of musical appropriateness which is evident in “No Goodbye”, for example. In this song, CRCK/LCKS perfectly times when and where to incorporate electronic elements that other artists would possibly overuse.
Currently CRCK/LCKS has three mini-albums CRCK/LCKS (2016), LIGHTER (2017), and Double Rift (2018) which is all available on Apple Music and Spotify.
