Genki Iwahashi Announces Departure from King & Prince!

We have the unfortunate news that Member Genki Iwahashi, of the popular boy group King & Prince, announced that he will be withdrawing from the group indefinitely on March 31. Iwahashi made his debut as a member of King & Prince in May 2018 but had suspended his activities in November of that year to concentrate on the treatment of a panic disorder. Although he did continued activities in February 2019, he didn’t fully return to the group. According to the announcement on the official website of Johnny's Entertainment, he has tried to overcome the difficult condition, but after such a period of rest, Iwahashi learned about the difficulty of overcoming panic disorder and the pressure of talent activities.  Iwahashi has reconsidered his future life based on his own condition and decided to end group activities and leave Johnny’s Entertainment as a whole. The other members heard Iwahashi's thoughts and released the following statement: "Because we are important friends to Iwahashi, we should send out all of our positive thoughts.” The group has decided to continue the with five people.

We at OTY would like to thank Iwahashi for all his work in the music industry and wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
