Shocking news was announced this past week as Nigata officially parted ways with NGT48, coming off the heels of all the controversy surrounding Maho Yamaguchi. The Mayor of Nagata came out and expressed his desire to put their contracts on hold, all due to the scandal surrounding Yamaguchi. The Minami ward of Nigata had ambassadors from the group and they have decided to not renew their contracts.

Back in December of last year Yamaguchi was assaulted by two men on her way back home from a theater performance. The men were arrested but eventually let go with no charges. Shortly after this Yamaguchi came out and apologized to her fans. Well, news eventually broke that management for NGT48 forced Yamaguchi to apologize and this outraged fans. Since then, management has been replaced but things still continue to deteriorate for NGT48.
