Industry veteran Seiko Matsuda is releasing a compilation of her best songs from the 90s and 00s titled Seiko Story - 90s - 00s Hits Collection - which will be released August 7. Matsuda got her start back in 1980 as a teen idol and went on to have twenty-four consecutive singles hit number one on the charts. She rose to prominence during what is considered the golden age of idols but unlike most idols who eventually faded from popularity, Matsuda was able to maintain relevance well after the golden age of idols had come to an end. She is active in the industry to this day and over the course of her career she has released eighty-four singles and fifty-two studio albums.

Seiko Story - 90s - 00s Hits Collection - is being released in one edition and it will be on two Blu-spec CD2 discs, a newer type of CD made using the Blu-ray process which makes the sound more clear.
