Ikimonogakari’s new single ‘Unmeichan’ releases today An additional tour date this weekend will be broadcast live overseas for the first time!

Popular duo Ikimonogakari’s 35th single ‘Unmeichan’ was released this past week across all streaming platforms.
This new track was used as the theme song for the anime series ‘Mission: Yozakura Family’. This up-tempo track evokes the worldview of the series while bursting with intense color and personality.
A preview video of their ‘Amazon Music Live: Ikimonogakari’ performance from October last year which includes the single will also be made available on Youtube. A performance of ‘Koisuruotome’ exclusive to this event is included in its entirety in the release, making this disc a must-buy for fans. And that’s not all, there are also four tracks recorded for the Youtube channel ‘THE FIRST TAKE’ included. Performed in December last year, audio from ‘Blue Bird’, a massively popular track both inside and outside Japan, and ‘TOKIMEKI’, the opening theme of the TV anime ‘Kibou no Chikara Otona Precure ‘23’ are included in the package, along with ‘Kimagure Romantic’ and ‘Kyoukara Kokokara’ from a previous performance on the same channel, for a total of four tracks.
Moreover, an additional tour performance to take place this weekend ‘Ikimonogakari’s Hello Everyone Tour!! 2024 –You, Me, Everyone, Let’s Sing! - Yokohama Good Job Performance’ will now be streamed online. Centered around tracks like ‘Blue Bird’ and ‘SAKURA’, there are many songsincluded which are popular with overseas fans, making this the long awaited first headline performance by Ikimonogakari that will be streamed overseas.

Kiyoe Yoshioka Turns A New Leaf with Upcoming Solo Single!

Vocalist of the popular pop rock band Ikimonogakari, Kiyoe Yoshioka announced that she will be making her solo debut starting December 22nd with her work “まっさら” (“Massara”). The song will be the first that vocalist Motohiro Hata and Yoshioka, who both have a close relationship with each other, have written together. The production started in the spring of this year with an enthusiastic offer from Yoshioka. The song was completed after repeated discussions which also incorporates some of Yoshioka's determination to take on new challenges. While the physical edition of single will drop on December 22nd, the song will be made across all digital music streaming platforms on November 29th. The work will also come with only a standard edition that will include a bonus DVD. The DVD will feature the music video for “Massara” along with a behind the scenes making-of.

Hotaka Yamashita Announces Departure From Ikimonogakari!

Guitarist Hotaka Yamashita announced that he will be leaving the three-member group Ikimonogakari this summer. The group’s last three-person live will be held at the Kanagawa’s Yokohama Arena June 10 and 11. After that, Yamashita will be leaving the group and proceeding on a new path including creative activities such as composition and writing. Ikimonogakari will still continue activities with Yoshiki Mizuno and Kiyoe Yoshioka as a duo.

The three of them came to this decision after many discussions, saying that they had changed their thoughts on several occasions throughout the year, "grazing hiatus or splitting up and becoming independent artist.” Yamashita commented, “As I continued my journey through the twists and turns, I felt that the feelings toward music and the group became slightly different between me and the other two.” To Mizuno and Yoshioka, he said, “I would appreciate it if you could watch over what will be born in the future, with warm eyes on my future project. I’m also looking forward to the progress of the new Ikimonogakari.”

We at OTY would like to thank Yamashita for all the hard work he did with Ikimonogakari and look forward to the new era of the group. We wish them the best on all future endeavors.

Ikimonogakari Shows Who's in Charge With Upcoming Album!

Three-member pop band Ikimonogakari announced that they will be releasing a brand new album, WHO?, March 31. Following their upcoming single “BAKU” on February 24, the release will be a part of the band’s fifteenth year major label debut anniversary in addition to tie-up songs such as "Living" and "Kirakira ni Hikaru". A total of nine songs including ones such as "Karakuri" will be included on the album. The album will come with two editions: a CD-only standard edition and a limited edition which will include an additional DVD featuring documentary footage and the live tour BS Ikimonogakari DIGITAL FES 2020 20th Anniversary !! ~ Remotely which was held in September last year.

Ikimonogakari Brings it Back with Upcoming Single!

Popular three-member pop-rock band Ikimonogakari announced that their upcoming track “BAKU” will be used for the opening theme song for the long running ninja anime BORUTO- NARUTO NEXT GENERATION. This isn’t the group’s foray with the series, providing the tracks “Bluebird” and “Hotaru no Hikari” back in 2008 and 2009 for BORUTO’s predecessor, NARUTO. "BAKU" will be a high energy tune with an impressive brass sound, written and composed by member Yoshiki Mizuno. Ryo Eguchi, who also worked on "Bluebird" and "Hotaru no Hikari,” is in charge of the arrangement. This song will be released on January 18, 2021 across all digital music streaming platforms. In addition, it has been decided that a physical edition of the single will be released on February 24, 2021. In addition to "BAKU,” "Bluebird" and "Hotaru no Hikari" will also be included in the single.
