Kamen Rider Gotchard opening theme song video released alongside episode 2! Surprise “kick song” by Beverly also out!

Kamen Rider Gotchard has begun broadcasting on TV Asahi, and with the second episode broadcast on September 10, the opening credits with the theme song ‘CHEMY×STORY’ by BACK-ON was unveiled for the first time.

The first episode did not include opening credits, but the song was used within that episode as well, and a “TV size” short version of the song and a lyric video have also been released. This cheery song is like an early-morning alarm call, becoming an instant hit with fans – and now that it has been featured in the opening credits, the song’s momentum has only increased.

The song was composed by KENJI03, who also performs as BACK-ON. KENJI03 wrote the theme song ‘Trust · Last’ for Kamen Rider Geats under the name Hi-yunk, and also composed an additional song, ‘Chair’, for the same series under his BACK-ON moniker – each of which received a great response. This is his third Kamen Rider song, and his second as BACK-ON, establishing him as a top Kamen Rider artist beloved by fans.

Also on September 10, episode 2 featured a surprise insert song that has taken fans by storm. Soundtracking Kamen Rider’s trademark Rider Kick, the new “kick song” was performed by Beverly, who previously performed the theme song for Kamen Rider Build as PANDORA feat. Beverly! It has been quite a while since Beverly performed a song for the series, and also some time since a high-profile insert song was featured so early in the series, so the song was met with surprise and joy by Kamen Rider fans.

The title of this “kick song” is ‘Rising Fighter’. It will be released on download and streaming services from midnight Japan time on September 11 and can be located on all streaming platforms here!

“Lost In Paradise (feat. AKLO)” by ALI

I’ve been watching Jujutsu Kaisen and this is one hell of a way to end the show. This is a fun song that is easy to listen to on repeat. It has a great saxophone solo in the middle and a great rap bridge to back it up. The fact that Ken picked them for Music Corner is a bigger boon, I had such a blast listening to them.

“Boku Wa Boku Wo Suku Ni Naru” by Nogizaka46

This track is honestly not a stand-out for the group, but I really missed them last year for the most part, and so while this is not the most exciting song they have released, I’ve been really enjoying listening to it. I’m excited to see what 2021 has in store for these girls. The melody is pretty catchy, and the girls’ harmony is still excellent.

“Zeal of Proud” by Roselia

This tune was a nice surprise that really hit me. There was a point in my life where I only listened to rock music and I guess I just got burnt out so now I don’t listen to that much rock for fun, but “Zeal of Proud” is really good. This is easily my favorite song that I’ve heard by Roselia. I really have enjoyed just going back and listening to this song on repeat.

“Everlasting Sky” by Beverly

I recently just finished watching Kamen Rider Build the Movie: Be the One, which this song served as the ending theme to, and I’ve had it on repeat ever since. I love this song so much; I love Beverly’s vocals that are in this song. Also, this song is used to maximum effect in the closing moments of the movie and, honestly, it was hard to sit there and not cry.

“endless journey” by lol

What a wonderful surprise this song has been. This number dropped a few days ago and I’ve had it on repeat ever since. This tune to me is classic lol with a catchy melody and fun lyrics. Also, as usual, Honaka has a great rap break in the song. This is a great way to start off the new year and I’m excited to see what they do next.

Music Corner Week 70: Beverly

Beverly, is a really special artist in the Japanese music industry. She was born in the Philippines in 1994 and lived there until 2015 when she moved to Japan. Beverly is the third child of four and has always had a knack for singing. She sang throughout her childhood and once out of school, Beverly began to pursue her singing career by joining various amateur singing competitions. She would go on to compete in the World Championships of Performing Arts where she won first place and putting her to work with composer Vehnee Saturno. As a child, Beverly also developed a love for Japanese music from having watched a lot of anime and J-dramas while growing up in the Philippines.

Beverly had always wanted to travel to Japan and Saturno had a business partner that worked out of Japan. Saturno had his business partner give a listen to her and that led to her getting an audition. Finally, in 2015 Beverly made it to Japan and started attending singing and dancing workshops, which led to her signing with Avex Trax in 2016. Since signing on to Avex, she currently has released three albums, one live album, a mini-album, and a total of seventeen singles that are a combination of physical and digital releases. Beverly has also gone on to provide several openings for many anime and dramas such as Fruits BasketPokemon, and Kamen Rider Build just to name a few.

Upon hearing her awesome vocals, the listener can tell how long she has spent honing her craft.I first noticed her last year when she released her version of “Endless Love” which I found to be a stunning performance. I was familiar with “Be The One” but until recently I wasn’t the biggest fan of that song and I feel like that song doesn’t really show off her talent. Her song “Everlasting Sky” is used for Kamen Rider Build: Be The One (The Movie) which had me captivated. I loved this song the very first time I heard it. Beverly has a great range with an amazing voice.

Beverly provided the opening theme to the latest Pokemon movie, Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle “Coco” which came out on December 25 of last year. Be sure to check out her website to stay up to date with all her latest news and her Twitter. Be sure to check out her short video for her song “Everlasting Sky” posted below.
