V6 Announces Disbandment!

Unfortunately, we regret to report that popular Johnny’s boy group V6 starting November 1 will be breaking up. The disbandment was announced on Johnny’s & Associate’s Johnny’s Net website. When all the members had turned 40, Go Morita had the desire to take on the challenge as an actor, away from Johnny's & Associates. Other members respected his decision, leading to the conclusion of them breaking up. Morita commented, “When I thought about my growth, I decided to have the group disband because I had a desire to take on the next step and all of us had a consistent feeling that "only these six people are V6".

Morita will leave Johnny's & Associates on November 1, and Masayuki Sakamoto, Hiroshi Nagano, Yoshihiko Inohara, Ken Miyake, and Junichi Okada will continue to work at Johnny's office. In addition, the 20th Century consisting of the older members Sakamoto, Nagano, and Inohara will continue, and the activities of the younger members Coming Century consisting of Morita, Miyake, and Okada will end.

We at OTY would like to thank V6 for all their contributions to the Japanese music industry and wish the best to all six member’s future aspirations.
